Gearing up to National Walk to Work Day? Remember the annual  event run by the Pedestrian Council of Australia as part of a longer-term strategy to help improve the health and wellbeing of Australian workers is coming up on  Friday 1 October.

Individuals who pledge to participate this year can go into the draw for some wonderful prizes, including one of two walking holidays to New Zealand or Tasmania. Or sign up as a Walking Workplace and receive tips on how to make the most of walking in your workplace.

AHP AGM Replay

The AHP AGM has been rescheduled and will now be held on Thursday 14 October 2010 in the RMH Pharmacy Department Meeting Room at 12:30

We request that all possible members attend to enable us to pass our financial statements and pass any AHP business resolutions.

Back at 11.50am on the 15th October 1970, the western span of the Westgate Bridge (then under construction) collapsed. 35 Workers were killed and a number were injured.

The usual ceremony will be held before noon, under the span that fell, in front of the memorial plaque. However afterwards there will be a special function at the nearby Science Works. Besides some key note speeches, well known singer and songwriter Mark Seymour will perform. One special song will be a dedication to the workers of the West Gate Bridge.
