WORKERS MEMORIAL DAY MOURNING THE DEAD AND FIGHTING FOR THE LIVING Program for the commemoration ceremony – Tuesday 28 April 10.20am: Assemble at Argyle Place, corner of Argyle St and Lygon streets in Carlton for the commemoration ceremony. This park is two blocks North of Trades Hall 11.00am: There will be a minute’s silence at 11.00am 11.15am: There will be refreshments and guest speakers at Meeting Room 1, Trades Hall. The Victorian Trade Union Choir will again be performing at this year’s memorial event. The theme for 2009 is again Good Occupational Health for All Workers. This is particularly relevant to Australian workplaces- · It is estimated that over 1.5 million Australian workers may currently be exposed to occupational carcinogens. · Australian unions will continue the campaign in 2009 for the best Model OHS Law for all Australian workers
Workers Memorial Day is organised by the Victorian Trades Hall Council in conjunction with IDSA.
