We are meeting with management on Monday 26 October 2009. This will be a major test to see whether the Company genuinely wants to pursue an agreement or whether it intends to continue to try to extend the de facto wages freeze which it has imposed since 2007. We have repeatedly requested a copy of the wages offer which the Company intends to make but this has been ignored. If it does not match public sector rates, which are flowing to all it’s private competitors, it will be so far behind market rates that it will inevitably lose many of its scientists. This will then guarantee that it will become a second rate service. As of next January, scientist rates at Dorevitch will be $98.70 p.w. behind the public sector at the top of Grade 1, $113.00 at the top of Grade 2 and $114.30 at the top of Grade 3.
