We have been advised by Austin Health that it will not be tendering for the contract to provide pathology services to Werribee Mercy after the current 5 year contract ends on 30 September 2010.

We have met with members at the Werribee laboratory to discuss the implications of Austin Health’s decision.

We have also had preliminary discussions with Austin Health. AH has agreed to set up a Consultative Committee to discuss the impact of the decision on scientists, as per Schedule C – Austin Health Organisational Restructuring Agreement of the public sector enterprise agreement.
