We apologise for any delays in dealing with members’ issues during this busy time. The new MSAV/VPA/AHP offices were opened by the Hon Kim Carr, Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, on Wednesday 15 September 2010. The Minister spoke passionately about the importance of science, and also about the importance of debate regarding political matters. He also referred to the vision of those behind the building of 62 Lygon Street, the directors of the Meat Industry Employees Superannuation Fund (MIESF). Our new offices are located on Level 1, 62 Lygon Street, two doors north of Trades Hall. The building was designed to bring together unions and politics, as well as arts and culture. There is a permanent display of pottery on the ground floor, an art gallery and a café, and tenants include the Australasian Meat Industry Employees Union and now the MSAV, VPA, AHP and HSU Victoria No 4 Branch, as well as the MIESF. Smith Madden, the designer of the fit-out of our offices is also a tenant.
