Southern Health has been undertaking a ‘realignment’ of reporting lines within mental health.

VPA members at Southern Health have been raising concerns with us over the past year about the non-replacement of psychology positions, and the apparent conversion of specialist psychology positions into generic case management positions.

We have written to the Executive Director of Mental Health, Anne Doherty, and will be arranging to meet with her as soon as possible to discuss our concerns. We are aware of a number of experienced psychologists who have left Southern Health due to the running down of psychology services.
