The Union notified a dispute with Melbourne Health to FWA after MH failed to give a response to questions about vacant positions advertised on a fixed term basis that were previously permanent. Fixed term contracts are prohibited under the current EBA with limited exceptions – MH has subsequently advised that they have decided that no positions in pathology will be advertised other than on a fixed term basis because of uncertainties association with the tendering out of Western Health’s shared services – There has been no consultation on this decision – FWA conciliation has been deferred until December as the operations manager is away.MSAV will meet with MH members based at Western Hospital who may have a view on this matter on Mon 15 Nov at 1:pm .For any queries please contact Heidi Brown in the office.
