Royal Children’s Hospital Following representations from the Union, the RCH is currently correcting an anomaly relating to two entitlements for staff covered by the Medical Scientists, Pharmacists and Psychologists (Public Sector - Victoria) Agreement 2008 – 2011. These anomalies include leave accruals and payment of leave loading for staff who work ordinarily hours at weekends. Personal leave should be accruing at the following rate: - 16 days in the first year of service, - 18 days in the second, third and fourth years of service, and - 25 days in the fifth year of service and each year thereafter. The Hospital is in the process of rectifying personal leave balances as per the Agreement entitlement. The hospital intends to base personal leave accrual rates for re-credited purposes on current working hours (if a member believes he/she is being disadvantaged by this please contact the Union – for example if you have gone from full-time to part-time work). Adjustments will be backdated to 16 December 2005. The RCH also acknowledges that in accordance with Clause 52.8 of the Agreement, leave loading is payable on the fifth week of annual leave accumulated by members who work ordinary hours at weekends. Staff members who have not received leave loading on this leave will receive appropriate back pay as per the Agreement entitlement. It is expected that you will receive the additional sick leave accrual and back pay for leave loading (if applicable) on the pay day of 20th July 2011. It pays to be a member of the Union!
