During the 2008 negotiations for the current enterprise agreement, the employers refused to insert a histology cut-up allowance into the public sector Agreement, on the basis that cut-up was not being performed by scientists in the public sector. Scientists are now being trained and are now performing cut-up at Southern Health. Following agitation by the MSAV and MSAV members, Southern Health have agreed to backdate the cut-up allowance which will be negotiated as part of the next EBA.
