Did you know that where a public holiday falls during a period of personal/sick leave, that the day must be paid as a public holiday and NOT deducted from personal/sick leave entitlements?

We have successfully followed this matter up for members whose employers have debited members’ personal leave balances where a public holiday has fallen in a period of sick leave.
