Negotiations with the VHIA and the DOH have continued on a weekly basis.

The Union’s log of claims has been tabled and discussed in detail.

The VHIA has advised us that the nurse’s negotiations are causing delays in all of the public health sector negotiations. Our response to the VHIA is that we expect an operative date of 1/1/2012 for matters that are agreed in the negotiations. It is unacceptable that the operative date of benefits for members is compromised because the State Government wants to slow the negotiations to a snail’s pace.

Members meetings will shortly be held across the major health services in metro Melbourne and regional Victoria. Details of these will be distributed as soon as they are finalised.
