The ACCC has released an Undertaking by Healthscope under s87B of the Trade Practices Act. Healthscope has offered to divest part of the combined pathology business in Victoria to meet the concerns of the ACCC. The businesses to be divested would be: Gippsland Pathology, the Dorevitch laboratory at Benalla Hospital, the Gribbles Wangaratta laboratory & the associated collection centres. The MSAV will make submissions to the ACCC on the proposal, on retention of key staff, and the how the identity of any proposed purchaser may impact on competition.
