MH & MSAV agreed to a review of Merit guidelines with a view to introducing a formal review committee sitting twice a year. This change has been initiated due to administrative difficulties and is aimed at ensuring applications are dealt with in a timely way. Draft guidelines have been posted on MH’s intranet. We note that the initial draft appears to have removed the option of an independent chair in the event of a deadlock. We request that members read the draft and feed back to HR that this alteration is unacceptable. Please contact Heidi Brown with any other comments or queries.
