Anti Union Ads - What's the Angle? |

You may have seen a number of ads on television or in the news lately about the problems that would be created by getting rid of Howard’s workplace laws. These ads claim that removal of the laws will remove choice from the workplace and show union officials barging into workplaces and intimidating both employers & employees. What we say to that; Make no mistake your employer has always been able to choose to pay more & provide better working conditions - What Howard’s laws are doing is eroding the Award safety nets; that is reducing the stability of the workforce by removing access to unfair dismissal – this makes it easier for employees to be able to “choose” to be paid less. When you think of the ads – ask yourself is this picture reflective of my union? Unlikely! - Do unions tell employers how to run their business? NO!
- Do unions pursue entitlement and legislative breaches? YES!
- Do Unions reach out to their members in their own workplace? YES!
- Are we looking to damage your career prospects? NO!
