After being contacted by the VPA, Eastern Health has conceded that it was wrong not to have included Higher Qualifications Allowances in the calculation of ‘ordinary pay’ in relation to the redundancy pay of two psychologist members of the VPA.

We periodically find employers ‘trying it on’ and not paying members their HQA when on long service leave or redundancy pay. If this happens to you, you should contact us immediately.
