Acute Health Services and Services Attached to the Public Hospital System
We are seeking information from Dietitian members as part of our information gathering regarding our claims for improving the classification structures and career progression for dietitians employed in the public sector under our certified agreements (EBAs). Hospitals and health services are classified into 2 groups under our award. (The grouping excludes stand alone community health services) In turn, the groupings depend on the achievement on a number of ‘points’ which reflect complexity and size. The groupings in the award are now well and truly out of date. Not only have some named hospitals disappeared as separate entities, but the groupings no longer reflect relative size and complexity. For example, Northern Health is included in Group 2, but is clearly a Group 1 health service. If you are a dietitian member of the MSAV and work in an acute health service (which may also offer subacute, community and rehabilitation services) please complete the survey in the member-only pages of the website. (Login first; go to Documents -> Campaign EB2007 -> Public Sector Dietitian Survey.) We will also be developing another separate survey to gather information about the management and service model structures for nutrition and dietetics which apply in different health services.
