| HOW DO SCIENTISTS AND DIETITIANS RATES COMPARE WITH NSW? |

The outcome for the nurses was dictated in part by the disclosure of the disparity in rates between Victorian and NSW nurses. In truth the rates of most public sector workers in NSW are streets ahead of ours – the outcome of more sympathetic state governments over the border.
Please note that NSW health professionals are about to commence negotiations for the next round of bargaining and so the rates shown in our comparison are soon to be further increased. Key features are: Ø At the top of Grade 1, NSW scientists are $10,600 ahead of Victoria; Ø The top increment of Grade 1 in NSW is more than the top of Grade 2 in Victoria; Ø The Principal Scientist rate in NSW is $21,000 higher than the Victorian rate! Ø The top of the first Grade for Dietitians in NSW is $18,000 above the comparable rate in Victoria; Ø The top of Grade 2 Dietitian in NSW is $14,000 ahead of the Victorian rate; Ø The top of Grade 3 Dietitian in NSW is $15,000 ahead of the Victorian rate; Ø The top of Grade 4 Dietitian in NSW is almost $12,000 ahead of Victoria.
