Q If non-members join now, can they take part in what ever industrial action is endorsed at their worksite?
A
YES. New members who join between now and the date of any protected industrial action can take part in the industrial action.

Q: If non members join the MSAV or VPA now, can they vote in the ballot?
A
No, because you needed to be a member of the Union on the date that the ballot orders were made

Q: If the ballot returns an invalid result will we get a CPI pay increase adjustment?
A:
No, Your employer is not obliged to give any pay increase at all until a new agreement is reached – Bah humbug!

Q: If the Ballot result is invalid can we run another one?
A:
Yes. BUT the union will pay a portion of the cost each time.  This will eat into the fees you have paid us to protect wages and conditions. An invalid result may send a signal that YOU don’t care.  SHOW US YOU CARE, TICK YES & RETURN YOUR BALLOT!

Q: What else can I do to help?
A: Write to your local state MP, the Premier & the Minister for Health – tell them efficient work deserves to be rewarded not punished
    - Write letters to the editor of major and local newspapers
    - AND last but not least: ASK NON-MEMBERS TO JOIN US!  - STRENGTH IN NUMBERS

Time to encourage Non Members and Lapsed Members to Join (or rejoin) the MSAV & VPA
&
Join with Members to Fight for Your Entitlements

Many people don’t join the Union because they have never been asked! Now is the time to ask colleagues who are not members to join and support their Union colleagues in fighting for a fair deal. Membership application forms and booklet are available on our website at MSAV & VPA - Join Us or ring the office and we will post some out to you.

Lapsed members can ring the office to rejoin. For a short period we are willing to consider an ‘amnesty’ for past members who owe back fees. Get on the phone now and call us on 9623 9623 (MSAV) or 9623 9625 (VPA).
