The Royal Children's Hospital and The Royal Women's Hospital signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 5 May 2008 to establish a 5 year Mutual Pathology Service Agreement. The Steering Group will be comprised of the respective CEOs or their nominees, the Director of Pathology and/or nominee and the Business Manager (to be appointed). The Agreement provides for some nominated staff to transfer from RCH to RWH employment if they choose to do so and for some equipment ownership to also be transferred. We are told that there will be no changes to staffing levels or people's entitlements as a result of the agreement. Some staff (those permanently stationed at RWH) will have the opportunity to transfer to RWH employ if they choose to do so and if they do, all their entitlements will transfer with them. The staff who will be involved with the transfer are: the Andrology scientists, the Anatomical Pathologists at RWH, the scientists in Molecular Microbiology. We have been invited to put forward the views of members. Any member who would like to have an input is asked to contact us next week.
