ARCBS has tabled a further proposal which is the first serious offer made in this round of bargaining despite the current agreement having expired on 30 September 2007. While we acknowledge that at last ARCBS is taking scientists seriously, we are very concerned that their offer threatens to downgrade the entitlements of members against their peers in the public sector. ARCBS needs to explain to its scientists why it thinks that they are worth less than scientists elsewhere. A meeting of the local MSAV negotiating group will be held next week to draft a response.
