The awards for MSAV members of the year in memory of Jim Alcock, who was an MSAV Industrial Officer, were presented to Damian McVeigh and Peter Wells.

Damian, who has just retired as Principal Scientist in Haematology at the Alfred) was an active job representative there for a long time, and has been, and is, a fierce advocate for the profession of medical science and for the MSAV and members.

Peter Wells has been an outstanding job representative at Southern Health for a number of years. Peter took time off during the public sector EBA negotiations to work on the MSAV/HSU#4 campaign at the workplace and in the media.

Both Damian and Peter were members of the HSU#4 EBA Committee and spent countless hours in meetings with the VHIA and DHS, and in the AIRC, over the period of the (very protracted) negotiations.
