A long-standing dispute with Eastern Health over the underclassification of senior scientists was referred to the Medical Scientists Working Party in line with Award prescription earlier this year. The working party examined the specific Weighting Factors Formula in the Award.  We are waiting to hear whether EH will accept revised calculations of the points attributed to one scientist allowing retention of their pay rate.  In the event that EH reject our calculations then the matter will be referred back to the AIRC.  The MSAV will seek interim orders preserving the Status Quo and directions for arbitration on downgraded and correct classification of 2 other roles.
