Our log of claims was endorsed by a well attended evening meeting at the Heidelberg laboratory on 24 September followed by a day meeting on 25 September. These meetings, which included members from as far afield as Frankston and Knox, expressed a determination to restore salary relativities against the public sector which have been eroded since the increases in the public sector cut in on 1 January 2008.The higher rates of pay which have historically operated at Dorevitch are paid in lieu of salary packaging which is available to public sector members and those in denominational institutions but not those in for-profit institutions such as Dorevitch. If this differential is not maintained then in real terms, Dorevitch members will fall behind their colleagues in the public and not-for-profit pathology sectors.

A meeting with the employer is scheduled for Wednesday 1 October at which we anticipate that the Company will respond to our log of claims.
