Tuesday 2 December 2008 10.00 am The ABCC announced this week that charges will be dropped against Noel Washington, the union official facing 6 months jail for refusing to answer ABCC questions regarding a union meeting. There will be a rally outside the ABCC headquarters, 553 St Kilda Road, next Tuesday in support of the abolition of the ABCC which has outstanding charges against a number of other union officials and union members. The Rights on Site campaign has started running a TV ad in prime time this week, in which retired Fed Court judge Rod Madgwick calls for the abolition of the ABCC and outlined penalties for building and construction workers under its watch. "Unfortunately, not all Australians are equal before the law," he said.
