Having heard a report from the MSAV, members at a number of sites including Heidelberg, Ballarat, Bendigo, Gippsland and Frankston have condemned Dorevitch and Gippsland Pathology for the failure to bargain in good faith over the renewal of the EBAs.
After initially stating that they wanted to wrap up the new agreement before Christmas, Dorevitch and GPS walked away from the bargaining table in September, refusing to make any wage offer at all. Members have directed us to take whatever action is necessary to negotiate a new agreement, including making application to the AIRC for a ballot of members re the taking of protected industrial action. We expect to be making an application to the AIRC for orders to conduct the ballot prior to Christmas. Meanwhile Dorevitch is failing to act in good faith in relation to its regional customer base. This comes as no surprise as in our experience employers who treat their employees badly and less than honestly, are likely to be just the same in their business dealings.
