Vale Carolyn O’Gorman

We are saddened to have to advise members of the tragic death of a member of the MSAV, Carolyn O’Gorman, in the terrible bushfires.

Carolyn was a senior dietitian at Plenty Valley Community Health and a long standing member of the MSAV. Carolyn was actively involved in 2007 with other MSAV members in developing a new draft classification structure for dietitians in community health. This will form part of our ongoing negotiations with DHS and the VHIA this year.

We extend our condolences to Carolyn’s family, friends and work colleagues. She will be sorely missed.

Carolyn’s colleagues at Plenty Valley Community Health have provided the following tribute to her:

We celebrate the life of Carolyn O’Gorman, Dietitian and Clinical Co-ordinator of the Child Health team at Plenty Valley Community Health.

Carolyn was a long time union member and worked hard to support workers rights and welfare both at her workplace and for Dietitians in general.

She was a pioneer in promoting health to the public at Plenty Valley Community Health and was instrumental in laying the footprint for the current health promotion team.

Her passion and enthusiasm were admired and respected throughout her workplace.

She has made an enormous contribution to the community’s well being and was highly regarded by colleagues across all sectors.

Our thoughts are with Patrick, Bronwyn (aged 21) and family on the loss of: Carolyn, her husband Allan and their son Stuart (aged 18).
