Agreement has finally been reached with Genetic Health over the renewal of the Agreement which covers genetic counsellors. The new Agreement picks up the outcomes from the 2008 public sector bargaining round, among other matters.

The next step in the process is for members to vote on a Heads of Agreement. After that the Union and Genetic Health will put together a comprehensive agreement which includes all award and agreement conditions. There will have to be a vote on this agreement, prior to it being lodged for approval. Scientists employed at Genetic Health are employed under the terms of the public sector Heads of Agreement 2008.
