The National Secretary of the Health Services Union has written to Symbion Pathology seeking clarification of the company’s position on the renegotiation of the agreements covering Dorevitch Pathology and Gippsland Pathology by 18 March 2009.

The Union’s position is that there should be a single agreement covering all employees of Symbion Pathology including scientists, technicians, laboratory assistants, couriers, collectors and administrative staff. Both the existing Dorevitch EBA and the Gippsland Pathology EBA cover all categories of staff.

The MSAV is a component association of the HSU Victoria No 4 Branch and supports a single agreement covering all staff including staff represented by HSU#1, ANF and the MSAV. We reject the company’s ‘divide and conquer’ approach and its transparent delaying tactics.
