We have become aware of some public health services offering fixed term contracts for what should be ongoing positions. This has occurred where members are being promoted to higher graded positions. This is a breach of our certified agreement. The only circumstances where fixed term positions can be offered are for genuine fixed term arrangements such as maternity leave or long service leave replacement positions, special projects, post graduate training and graduate year positions. If you are offered a fixed term contract in any other circumstances please contact the office immediately for advice.
