| Funding of Cancer Genetic Services to Go to the Public Sector |

The Department of Human Services (DHS) is changing the funding of cancer services and will be consolidating all family cancer services within the public health system, at Austin Health, Southern Health, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Southern Health. Funding for genetic counselling services will be reallocated from Genetic Health Victoria (VCGS) to the public system.
We have initiated discussions with Genetic Heath and the four public health services over transmission business issues, including transfer of entitlements.
Further, we are in discussions with DHS and VHIA to ensure that the genetic counsellors classification structure and rates of pay applies across the whole of the public sector under the new EBA.
