Swine Flu Stand-downs & Shutdowns? |
What happens if employees are sent home or quarantined due to an outbreak of swine flue in the workplace or if they, or a member of their family, tests positive to the H1N1 flu virus? The Union’s view is that if you are sent home because the workplace has closed then you are entitled to be paid, and you should not be required to use your own leave entitlements. Unions will be seeking discussions on this and other issues with the Victorian government. Members who are subjected to a directive not to go to work, or whose workplace is closed due to an order from the Department of Human Services, should contact our offices immediately for advice.
