| Why won't Dorevitch and GPS Pathology respond to our requests to negotiate a new EBA? |

The Health Services Union served a combined log of claims covering all employees employed at Dorevitch and GPS Pathology in April 2009. The current Agreement which covers all employees and all branches of the HSU expired in 2007.
All requests made by the HSU National Secretary to schedule meetings to commence negotiations have been rejected by Dorevitch and GPS Pathology. This is so, even though a negotiating committee has been elected from employees comprising HSU and MSAV members. However Dorevitch and GPS Pathology continue to refuse to meet with the HSU/MSAV but rather insist on meeting separately to negotiate separate “customised” agreements. This is not acceptable to the Union or its members! We will be scheduling combined HSU/MSAV meetings and seeking members to pass resolutions allowing the Unions to lodge an application with the AIRC seeking an order to conduct a secret ballot for the taking of protected industrial action. Dates and venues for combined Union meetings to be confirmed in the next STAT report.
