| Melbourne Health Breaches Award/EBA in Relation to the Definition of P4 Psychologist |

The VPA has written to Melbourne Health about changes MH has made to the P4 position description that now allows a psychologist with less than 5 years post registration experience to be appointed as a P4.
In the view of the union this breaches award/EBA requirements. It is particularly problematic where a P4 is in charge of higher qualified P3s, and is unable to supervise other psychologists for the purpose of APS clinical college membership, and lacks the mandatory experience under the requirements of the Psychologists’ Registration Board to supervise students. This effectively means that such a person would not be able to fulfil all the duties of a P4. We are seeking to meet with MH to have this action reversed.
