Officials and Job reps attended AIRC conciliation yesterday. Conciliation was sought after requests for consultation with decision makers over a proposal to restructure nutrition and dietetics at Cabrini, including a meeting with the CEO, were declined. This is a breach of the consultation requirements of the 2008 EBA.

The Union remains skeptical at claims that the restructure, including a proposal to make the Deputy Chief Dietitian redundant, is based on budget alone. As conciliation has failed, we will now seek orders to force the provision of information as to all reasons for the proposed changes and consultation on measures to avert or mitigate adverse effects.

The union was amazed to see that Cabrini is prepared to pay a solicitor from a top end of town law firm to attend proceedings when the budget is so tight.  More soon as developments unfold…
