MH has reversed the appointment of a psychologist who did not meet the criteria for a P4 position. The position will be readvertised shortly in the Age and the Australian. The VPA took the matter up directly with the Director of the mental health service.  It was conceded that MH had breached the P4 criteria. The integrity of the psychologists’ classification structure and career path is important, as is ensuring that senior appointments are made on merit.
