MSAV is currently pursuing backpay for scientists who have recently been awarded upgrading through the merit review process. In 3 cases scientists submitted applications to their managers over 6 months prior to a review committee being formed – one application was lost and 2 others were simply not passed on to HR by the department head.

Despite these delays not being the fault of the members MH will not backdate beyond the committee sitting date. We advise Melbourne Health that our members take such breaches of good faith seriously and intend to pursue the matter.
