In an extraordinary turn of events the management of Dorevitch Pathology and Gippsland Pathology have now locked out 22 medical scientists and technicians, members of the MSAV.
This is in retaliation to our members taking protected industrial action in support of claims for decent wages, and is completely disproportionate to the actions of the members. Symbion management have singled out 22 members of the more than 200 members at Dorevitch and Gippsland Pathology. We are consulting with our legal advisers about the next step. Union industrial Action Suspended on Monday 14 December 2009 Members passed the following resolution today: This meeting of MSAV members votes to suspend the protected industrial action which was to commence at 10.00 am Monday 14 December 2009 and cease at 6.00 am Tuesday 15 December 2009 so that talks can go ahead with the employer. We call on Symbion Health Limited to suspend its action in locking out 22 of our colleagues, and to consent to the assistance of FWA in negotiating an agreement with the Union to cover technicians and scientists. Members at Dorevitch Pathology & Gippsland Pathology who are not locked out are advised to attend work as normal on Monday.
