The public sector log of claims was unanimously endorsed by a meeting of members held at Trades Hall last night. Our thanks to all those members who attended, many of whom were representing their colleagues. A number of amendments to the Log of Claims moved from the floor. These will be incorporated into the final version of the Log of Claims. The updated Log of Claims will be posted on the website next week. Amendments include increasing shift and on-call allowances, and a claim that higher duties allowances be paid immediately someone is required to act in the place of a more highly graded colleague. The amended Log of Claims was formally adopted by the Health Services Union Victoria No 4 Branch Committee of Management which also met last night. (The Branch Committee of Management is made up of elected members drawn from the MSAV and VPA.). The log of claims will be served on the employers next week. We anticipate meeting with the Department of Human Services and representatives of the health services early July.
